We will be working with Kunst i Uterom 2025 – Stavanger Municipality’s ambitious project marking the city’s 900th anniversary. As part of the curatorial duo, Koffi & Højgaard (with Pauline Koffi Vandet), we’re looking forward to serving as curators and art consultants on this exciting initiative.
Stavanger has allocated 9 million NOK toward both permanent and temporary art projects, a professional program aimed at strengthening the local art field, and an outreach program to ensure the new art will be accessible to the public.
We’re excited to embark on this project, and going into it, many of our discussions have revolved around:
How we strengthen the sense that these projects go beyond merely being placed public space by functioning in relation to the people and bodies who use the space?
How art can engage and connect the public in new ways?
What experimental formats and temporalities can we introduce into public art?
How the program can lay the foundation for future artistic initiatives in the area?
We look forward to sharing more information with you as the work progresses!
